1. Why is the Frogans project important for my brand?
   
   This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor for the next major change for the Internet: the introduction of Frogans sites.
   
   Frogans sites provide a new, secure communications area for publishing content. The concerns of trademark holders have been addressed in advance of the introduction of the Frogans technology on the Internet. That is why the OP3FT, the non-profit organization responsible for developing the Frogans technology in the form of an open standard for the Internet, decided to set up a priority registration period for trademark holders.

2. What exactly can my brand secure?
   
   Your brand name can become a dedicated Frogans network: My-Brand*
   
   For example, if your brand is "Acme", you could create a dedicated Frogans network called "Acme". You can then create an unlimited number of Frogans addresses including:
   
   Acme*Services
   Acme*Group
   Acme*Media-Center
   Acme*2015
   Acme*Investors
   Acme*About-us
   
   By registering your trademark as a dedicated Frogans network, you become the only holder authorized to add Frogans addresses to that Frogans network.

3. What is the benefit to hold a dedicated Frogans network corresponding to my brand?
   
   There are two benefits to hold a dedicated Frogans network. For example, if you own the trademark "Acme":
   
   
   • your Frogans addresses are fully customized to the brand (Acme), and they do not include the name of the underlying technology (Frogans)
   • no one but you can register Frogans addresses starting with Acme*
   
   As stated in Introduction of the "Rules for the registration of a Dedicated Frogans Network during the priority registration period for entrepreneurs", you have two possibilities for registering Frogans addresses:
   
   
   • you can register Frogans addresses of a public Frogans network. In these networks, the network name is "frogans" or the transcription of the name "frogans" into other writing systems or other languages (e.g. 福更斯 in Chinese, ФРОГАНС in Cyrillic, and フロガンズ in Japanese). Hence for the Latin linguistic category, you can register:
     
     frogans*Acme-Services
     frogans*Acme-Group
     frogans*Acme-Investors
     
     
   • you can alternatively choose to register a dedicated Frogans network and then register Frogans addresses of that dedicated Frogans network. Hence you could register the following Frogans addresses:
     
     Acme*Services
     Acme*Group

4. How much does it cost to register My-Brand*?
   
   As a trademark holder, you register your brand using the services of a Frogans Core Registry (FCR) account administrator. The FCR account administrator registers your dedicated Frogans network on your behalf with the FCR Operator, and then charges you a fee for this service. FCR account administrators are free to set their own fees.
   
   The list of FCR account administrators is available here.
   
   The fee for registering a dedicated Frogans network is approximately 1% of the application fee for a new gTLD (i.e. a new domain name extension) with ICANN. Furthermore, the process is much less complex: it only takes a few minutes.

5. How can my brand benefit from a Frogans network like My-Brand*?
   
   The Frogans sites you publish using a dedicated Frogans network such as My-Brand* will let you expand your online presence and reach a larger audience, especially on mobile devices.
   
   In addition to the Web sites and mobile applications you may have today, you will be able to publish simple, secure Frogans sites that are fast to load and quick to render, and that will look exactly the same on all devices.

6. When will I be able to use My-Brand*?
   
   You can register it today and you will be able to publish Frogans sites later this year.
   
   First comes a two-month priority registration period for trademark holders. This period is followed by a priority registration period for entrepreneurs, when anyone will be able to register any term as a dedicated Frogans network. Finally, it will be possible to publish Frogans sites and make them available to the general public.

   All of the above and more. Frogans sites will enable consumers to quickly obtain any type of information from any organization or individual.    Consumers access Frogans sites on all Frogans networks using Frogans Player, secure software provided by the OP3FT that can be downloaded free of charge. On mobile devices like smart phones or tablets, Frogans Player is provided as an app available through app stores.

9. How to Frogans sites fit in with Web sites and smartphone apps?
   
   Frogans sites are complementary to both Web sites and smartphone apps. They are intended to exist alongside them. For example, a corporate Frogans site can provide the front line of information for the publisher. If consumers want more details, they can click on a link on one of the pages (called "slides") of the Frogans site to visit the publisher's Web site or download a custom app developed by the publisher.

10. Since Frogans sites are not viewed as a replacement for Web sites, what will Frogans sites be used for? And what are the key arguments as to why companies should embrace the Frogans project?
    
    Frogans technology offers a new way to publish content on the Internet that publishers worldwide can use as a complement to existing methods, especially on mobile devices.
    
    In today's world where users are increasingly relying on their mobile devices to access content, publishers are seeking solutions to maintain and further develop their presence on the Internet.
    
    
    • Web sites are not the ideal solution: mobile users visit Web sites only when they have no other choice (whether or not the Web site uses "responsive design"). Users prefer mobile apps, which are optimized to work on their device.
    • Mobile apps are not the ideal solution either: users only install a limited number of apps on their mobile devices, and typically only use a dozen or so.
    • Social networks are not the optimal solution either: content publishers are not totally free to control their content on a social network. They are continually at risk of an arbitrary decision by the social network concerning their content and its presentation, that may go against their interests.
    
    Frogans sites are fast-loading, portable, and identical across all devices, including smartphones and tablets. They offer a solution to help content publishers maintain and further develop their presence on the Internet.

11. Exactly when will Frogans sites be launched?
    
    The Frogans technology is being rolled out progressively over the course of 2015, and the first Frogans sites should be published in early 2016. In the mean time, site developers will be able to prepare early versions of Frogans sites by this fall, while software developers will be able to develop authoring tools targeting site developers.

12. What is the advantage of registering My-Brand* now?
    
    You can now lay the groundwork for a new digital strategy encompassing Frogans sites.
    
    You can also ensure that no one else with a similar trademark registers it first.
    
    In order to avoid additional costs for you, the duration of the period between the registration date and the date when it is possible to publish Frogans sites on the Internet is added, at no additional cost, to the duration you choose.

13. How is my brand protected?
    
    If you register a dedicated Frogans network such as My-Brand* now, you will secure its exclusive use for the duration of the initial period of the registration that you choose, as well as for subsequent renewals.
    
    The OP3FT has set up a legal framework to protect trademark holders from abusive registrations of Frogans addresses and Frogans networks. The Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy for Frogans Addresses (UDRP-F) defines proceedings directly inspired by the UDRP proceedings set up by ICANN. Two Dispute Resolution Service Providers have already been approved by the OP3FT: FORUM and the Asian Domain Name Dispute Resolution Centre

14. Does ICANN support these new Internet addresses?
    
    Yes. Frogans addresses are resolved using underlying services provided via the .frogans generic top-level domain (gTLD), which is delegated by ICANN to the OP3FT.
    
    However, Frogans addresses are not domain names using the .frogans extension. Frogans addresses are a new type of Internet address designed for a new type of content: Frogans sites, accessible from Frogans addresses such as My-Network*My-Site.

16. What is the OP3FT doing to promote the Frogans project among the global Internet audience?
    
    As part of its public-interest mission, the OP3FT has been working for years to develop a broadly-based international ecosystem:
    
    
    • The OP3FT regularly organizes and takes part in international conferences, workshops, trade fairs and many other types of event, all around the world, to raise awareness about the Frogans project. For example, the OP3FT regularly takes part in the international meetings of ICANN, INTA, the IETF, and the IGF.
